Cory Whitaker founded Bowie Capital in 2014. Serving as Chief Investment Officer, Cory establishes the firm’s strategy and owns the responsibility for investment decisions. Never straying far from his investment analyst roots, he remains actively involved in the research and diligence process for any investment selected for the portfolio. Cory also serves as an advisory director for Petrus Trust Company, which is the trustee for the Perot family’s trusts and is a prior member of the advisory board for the Terry Foundation. Cory has over 25 years of personal and professional investing experience across all major asset classes. Mr. Whitaker is also a CFA® Charterholder. 

Prior to founding Bowie Capital Management, Cory was the portfolio manager for public equities at Perot Investments. He also sourced and executed private equity and debt investments. Prior to Perot, he worked in New York as an investment associate with J.P. Morgan Partners in private equity and as an investment banking analyst with Citigroup. He held internships as an analyst with Blue Ridge Capital, a long/short hedge fund, and as an audit intern with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Cory was born in Bowie, Texas. He graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University where he attended as a Terry Scholar and earned a B.B.A. in Accounting and M.S. in Finance. He was active in the Corps of Cadets and student government. He also earned his M.B.A. with high distinction from Harvard Business School where he was designated a Baker Scholar and awarded the John Loeb Fellowship as the top finance graduate.
